Consulting Psychiatrist

Dr. Marianna Kessimian is a board-certified pediatric and adult psychiatrist. She received her MD from Boston University where she was also selected for the Gold Humanism Honor Society as well as the Ruth J Hunter Johnson Prize for excellence in psychiatry. Dr. Kessimian completed her adult psychiatry training and child psychiatry fellowship at Brown University, where she served as chief resident. After graduation, she earned a faculty appointment at Brown University and started as a staff psychiatrist at the Young Adult Behavioral Health Clinic.

Throughout this time, Dr. Kessimian developed expertise in the developmental and mental health needs of young adults and how to support their successful transition into the responsibilities and commitments of adulthood.

After three years, she transitioned away from hospital based medicine to stream-lined clinical care in a concierge private practice. She returned to her generalist roots, diagnosing and treating mental health conditions across the lifespan, while providing both psychotherapy and medication management.

Psychiatry remains an inexact science with many overlapping symptoms and diagnoses that can be confusing and overwhelming for individuals and their families. Dr. Kessimian provides a uniquely tailored, and interdisciplinary behavioral health consultation to families in the privacy of their homes. This consultation can serve as a helpful starting point to direct care to the appropriate specialist or as a second opinion when treatment or recovery have stalled. This premium service will allow families to navigate the complexities of the behavioral healthcare system more effectively while generating alternatives and options for care.
