To help ease the burden that the pandemic has caused, and support families in navigating these challenging times, OPG is excited to be providing specialized in-home and virtual education support services for families of children with autism, learning disabilities, and special needs.

Educational Support Services

Educational Support Consultation

An OPG professional will meet with your family, in person or virtually, to determine the family system’s holistic needs. The OPG professional will follow up with a comprehensive educational experience plan that factors in the ages of the children, individual interests, behavioral health diagnosis, and family’s need for in-home educational supervision. Our professional will review the plan with the family, coordinate logistics (ex. activity enrollment), find additional resources when needed, create calendars or other organizational systems for family members, and can recommend additional OPG services as appropriate.

Private Educational Coaching Services

Many parents voice concerns about their capacities to provide intensive structure for their children with autism or learning disabilities during summer months, while simultaneously balancing their professional and domestic obligations. Traditional childcare resources may not be available or provide a high level of educational engagement.

Respite Support Services

OPG Respite Support professionals have training in relevant disciplines (i.e., behavior modification, mental health) and can provide structure and engagement to clients in their communities and homes. Similar to OPG Private Educational Support Coaches, Respite Support Professionals are available virtually and in person. They can support clients on an hourly, half-day, or full-day basis. Parent coaching is a crucial component of respite support, helping parents to create behavioral schedules and expectations, understand effective limit-setting, and to manage crises.

Parent Coaching

Parent coaching provides parents with guidance, appropriate language, and tools to address issues with children of any age. Focus areas can include setting healthy boundaries, managing behaviors, understanding how to effectively intervene if you sense your child is struggling, and education about specific diagnoses (e.g. learning differences, eating disorders).
