O’Connor Professional Group Webinar – Collegial Conversations with Diana Clark – Treating Teens Like a Distinct Population, Not Miniature Adults

Often times, we expect teenagers to be able to handle complex situations by themselves, like adults. The reality is that teenagers are a distinct population and may need a little more handholding than we would think. In this Collegial Conversation with Diana Clark, Erin Goodhart will join Diana to discuss treating teens like a distinct population.

About the Guest: Erin Goodhart is the Senior Clinical Director of Women’s and Family Services at Caron Treatment Centers. Ms. Goodhart began her career at Caron in 2004 working with the adolescent population. Since that time, Ms. Goodhart has worked with adult men and women’s programs. Currently, Ms. Goodhart has clinical and administrative oversight over Caron’s Family Education Program, Young Adult Women’s Program, Adult Women’s Phase I and Phase II program, Relapse Women’s Unit and Women’s Grandview Program. Additionally, Ms. Goodhart is an Adjunct Professor at Alvernia University in the Behavioral Health Department.

Ms. Goodhart earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Kutztown University and a Master’s Degree from Alvernia University. Ms. Goodhart is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), Advanced Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist (ACRPS) and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). Ms. Goodhart is also a Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) provider and in the process of earning her EMDR certification.

Ms. Goodhart is passionate about helping women to overcome the stigma, shame and barriers that keep them from seeking treatment and engaging in an active recovery program. Ms. Goodhart’s areas of interest include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Trauma and Addiction, Women’s Treatment and Recovery Issues and Development of Clinical Staff. Ms. Goodhart has presented on specialty topics including utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with Adolescents, Young Adults, Adults and Families, Young Adult Addiction Interaction Disorders, Gender Specific Treatment and Family Recovery.
